Despite good intentions, the world is falling 70% short of the needed climate action before 2030. The same can be said when it comes to reversing the trend on loss of biodiversity and destruction of nature. The fight against climate change and the protection of nature is driven and funded by governments. Through legislation and economic incentives, they have a powerful toolbox. The reality, unfortunately, is that due to bureaucratic constraints and outdated ICT it takes too long to go from political decision to action.

The green bottom line is, that we are running out of time.

Reforestation in Denmark

Reforestation is a global agenda. Since 1990, global deforestation has had a rate equivalent to 800 football fields per hour.

In Denmark, the Danish Climate Forest Foundation is to contribute to the fulfillment of the ambitious Danish climate goals through the establishment of forests and changed use of carbon-rich lowland areas from intensive farming to forestry, whereby these lands will go from causing significant emissions to sequestering CO2.

The Danish Climate Forest Foundation needed to establish their digital solution with a short lead time to deliver on their mandate. The project was concluded in less than 12 weeks.

Wastewater

Wastewater control is a challenge for all environmental and water authorities. Wastewater includes all type of water discharged from dwellings, businesses, other buildings and paved areas. Generally speaking, the discharge of wastewater requires a permit.

The F2 inspections solution serves and combines all necessary purposes and was implemented in 7 months.

In climate change, humanity is facing its biggest challenge ever. Governments are developing their goals and actions plans every day. I take pride in having played my role in raising the bar for Denmark’s green ambitions in the political arena.

However, goals and plans will not save the planet – only action can. And digitization is our best – if not only – tool to go from political decisions to action in due time.
